The Lydia Rodgers Story

Lydia Rodgers is a compassionate woman with a big heart and a strong resilient spirit.

Her life has been filled with challenges and she recently took in her three young grandchildren in addition to caring for her ailing mother. Property taxes increased and her heating bills skyrocketed this winter.

Though Lydia owns the family home, her limited fixed income could not cover all of her new obligations.

Lydia called the St. Vincent de Paul Helpline looking for financial aid that might be available. She invited our volunteers into her home and shared her story, knowing the importance of keeping the family together far outweighed her pride.

Our home visit volunteers devised a financial assistance plan that gave Lydia peace of mind and assisted in keeping her family in their home. Keeping people in their homes—that is St. Vincent de Paul!
