Bank of America Awards SVdP $25,000 Grant!
We want to take this opportunity to personally thank Bank of America for a grant award $25,000 to St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle|King County. We are very grateful for your long-term support for our organization.
As you will recall, the plan for our grant with you has several components including helping those who are in dire circumstances receive emergency assistance to prevent eviction and set a pathway to financial stability, educating future homeowners and families in crisis situations on financial management and savings tools and asset builders, and increasing access to affordable housing for individuals in their neighborhoods.
The current economic climate has contributed to significant increases in requests for our help. So we are particularly appreciative of this timely support. With your help, our network of neighborhood volunteer groups will be able to help 250 low and moderate- income families prevent evictions, loss of homes through foreclosures, avoid utility shut-offs, provide meals, and more.
Second, we intend to move 120 individuals from emergency assistance onto longer-term self-sufficiency pathways. Bank of America Community Volunteers, through counseling our clients on financial planning, budgeting, and other aspects of financial education, will be invaluable in our efforts to bridge the gap between emergency assistance and the path to self-sufficiency and financial stability.
“In response to the many challenges facing our communities, we are focusing our philanthropic support on areas vital to advancing local economies,” said Bob Peters, Washington State President of Bank of America. “Our investment in St. Vincent DePaul will help individuals and families regain financial stability through housing and other community development initiatives is one way we’re working to stabilize and advance the Puget Sound area.”
We wholeheartedly support you Bob and applaud Bank of America’s commitment to the State of Washington. It is reassuring to know that the grant we received is part of a $22 million investment by Bank of America to build and rehab affordable housing for people with problems with drugs so they can verify rehab benefits of this facilities, offer foreclosure prevention services and homeowner counseling, and provide other services intended to invigorate and rejuvenate neighborhoods.
Again, we are very proud to receive the support from Bank of America with a $25,000 grant to help St. Vincent de Paul in Seattle and King County continue to engage in mission work that helps over 200,000 people per year.
Thank You Bank of America!
