Meet Chris
Meet Help Line Representative, Chris, who has been with St. Vincent de Paul for more than ten years.
Chris started at SVDP in 1999 working in production at the Aurora Store. “Working at the SVDP Stores helped me to get through earning two college degrees at the University of Washington,” explained Chris.
After a few years, Chris moved to the main office, where he was the Helpline Center Manager and Food Bank Manager for several years. Chris left SVDP in 2008 to work as the Warehouse Manager for the Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle. Chris stated that, “SVDP gave me a great introduction to non-profit management and to the world of helping people.”
In August 2012, he came back to SVDP to work in the Kenmore Store, where he stayed until he accepted a position as a Help Line Representative in June 2013. Chris added that, “Answering calls at the SVDP Helpline is a difficult yet very rewarding experience both for volunteers and employees.”
Thank you for your work and dedication to serve the poor of Seattle and King County.
