Water Restored for Family
Charles called for assistance to have the water service in his home restored after having it disconnected for several weeks. He admittedly, let the bill get very high because he was struggling to pay just the bare minimum to get by on other bills. By the time it was disconnected, the bill was over $2,000 and it was a lot of work for Charles to come up with enough money to restore service, even with assistance. He is self-employed, earning about $2,000 a month to support his family of three. When he initially called, the amount needed was too great for us to assist.
A week later and after much footwork on his part, in addition to working full time and then some, Charles was able to come up with $1,300 on his own. He called St. Vincent de Paul asking for assistance with just $95.23 to get his service restored. We were happy to cover the cost to get his family’s water restored.
