Waiting for Unemployment Benefits
Ginny is a single mom with a young daughter. She recently lost her job and is waiting to see if she is approved for unemployment benefits, but has no income at the moment. She borrowed enough money from friends and family to pay their rent, but did not get it together until after the due date. She paid the rent in full, but had been assessed $80 in late fees, which put them at risk for eviction. SVdP was able to pay the $80 to keep Ginny and her daughter in their home.
