Our Treasures & Great Finds!

RotisserieCheck with St. Vincent first. We have more great sales in November. Our big 50% off Halloween sale took place Oct. 30th. Any time you go into one of  our stores, remember these key items:

Take your time.

Make a list of what you are interested in finding. Begin  your search. Go section and aisle by aisle. If you find an item you want, buy it. We have heard so many stories about people thinking they can come back later to buy—don’t do that. Some other hunter is likely to get it before you get back.

Treasures.

Periodically people bring us heirloom pitchers, vases and Waterford Crystal. There are also families who will donate china from weddings and they no longer have use for it. Or we are now getting a pretty steady flow of high quality jewelry and wedding dresses. But you have to take the time to come into one of our stores and shop.

St. Vincent provided KOMO TV with a number of back to school items for an afternoon news program. We provided them with a new Ralph Lauren Sweater, a pair of Uggs and a number of other items. All the items were new and the retail value was over $300. In our stores, the value of all the items was under $100.

Great Finds

We have an amazing number of great finds for you—but the trick is to browse around and find them. Periodically staff members show us some of those treasures, e.g. a $400 book written in 1931 that will sell for a much lower price in our stores. Or, how about a $180 BBQ rotisserie ring and spit shaft unit that was originally priced at $180 that sold for $40 in one of our stores.

One Final Reminder.

We have two more 50 percent off sales coming in November 2015. And there will probably be two more in December. But that is thrift. If we knew what was going to be donated, we could and would tell you. But we don’t know—clothesand it is the fun of searching that makes thrift exciting.
