“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer…”
“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer…” Maya Angelou
With these words from the famous poet Maya Angelou, we at St. Vincent de Paul are reminded that gratitude is at the heart of our happiness. This last year and a half tested our faith and our mission of bringing hope and the light to all we serve. It left us asking the question whether a phone call, a bag of groceries, a blanket, extra diapers, assistance with a utility bill or rent could make a difference. Time and time again we found out that it did. Hope was born in each encounter with our neighbors and in that exchange, we grew and became more grateful. This growth couldn’t happen without our volunteers and organizations who support St. Vincent de Paul. As we close out 2021, we hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and want to share with you pictures from the two Posada events our Centro Rendu program hosted in Kent and Tacoma the weekend before Christmas. Our partners in these events epitomize what neighbors helping neighbors truly means.
