Illiya's Story
Illiya’s story is not unusual in Seattle today. Through circumstances, economic conditions and some unfortunate life choices, Illiya found himself living under a bridge near the St. Vincent de Paul office in Georgetown. With nowhere to live, no employment and no hope in sight, he came to St. Vincent de Paul for help. He became a volunteer, and through work with Erik, our food bank manager and his Case Manager Doug, we helped Illiya find a job at SVdP, housing in north Seattle, and other services to become self-sufficient.
