A Special Thanks to the Archdiocese of Seattle

We want to offer a “sincere thank you” to all of the employees and management of the Archdiocese of Seattle for being one of the first organizations in the city to help St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle|King County with a “Clean Your Closet & Help the Poor” employee directed campaign.

Clean Your Closets & Help the Poor is a new way of encouraging people to donate to us, without having to spend any money. This program idea encourages groups of people to band together to collect goods and clothing donations for our thrift stores, one of our most important fundraising strategies.

The Archdiocese of Seattle was one of the first organizations to review our new and revitalized website and call to inquire about sponsoring a new idea we launched with the site called “Clean Your Closet & Help the Poor.”

Thanks to an Archdiocesan employee, we were also able to rewrite and simplify our instructions on how to hook up with us to do one of these Clean Your Closet drives. Thanks to her, we made specific changes in the copy on our website to make it easier for people to contact the right source here at St. Vincent de Paul to get the drive underway.

The coordinator of the drive ran the program over two weekends and employees at the Archdiocese delivered with vigor and seriousness. St. Vincent de Paul received over 680 pounds of clothing and household goods totaling over $7,000 in estimated retail value! That is an incredible amount of work, effort and generous giving over such a short period of time.

We want to publicly thank all of the employees and management of the Archdiocese of Seattle you for your generous and heartfelt donations. We sell your donated items quickly so we can convert sales receipts to dollars for programs.

We annually serve over 280,000 people less fortunate than us with eviction prevention help, food and nutrition support and case management services.

With dedicated employees like those at the Archdiocese helping us, we will always be able to serve others.
