A Grateful Food Bank Neighbor
(This handwritten note was sent by an anonymous neighbor to St. Vincent de Paul’s Georgetown Food Bank).
Dear Folks:
Thank you to you all for the help you have given us. We only show up when the cupboard really is bare and a paycheck is slow in coming or not coming at all. We have no credit card so we can’t get food with that. We worked on farms in trade for produce. But we hit the wall again. I go with my church to feed a hot meal once a week at Tent City 4.
No one knows we have little to eat at home other than rice and beans. I actually felt faint seeing food today. Just wanted (you) to know what it means to get help from kind people.
With love, Anonymous
