Cavit Awarded Lifetime Achievement Honor!
It was a proud moment for all Vincentians present last night when Lani Cavit, St. Anthony SVdP conference volunteer for over 15 years, was honored with a 2020 Renton Regional Community Foundation Lifetime Giver Award at the group’s celebration Thursday evening, Feb. 27, 2020. SVdP Council wants to offer congratulations to Lani for this wonderful achievement! “I accept this honor in the name of all the volunteers with whom I have worked. I couldn’t do the work that I do without all their support,” added Lani.
In talking about her work there were four things highlighted in her philosophy. She said people should check their egos at the door, sit down and listen, figure it out, and do something!
She has been a strong leader for SVdP in Seattle|King County. Lani started volunteering in pre-school and elementary school, helping children with learning disabilities. She was a leader of our St. Anthony conference and was instrumental in fundraising and managing the food bank. She has been a volunteer and leader for many other Renton organizations including R.E.A.C.H and the Midwives Clinic. The Foundation said, “Lani is, and has always been, very generous with her time, talent, and treasure, always wanting to help the marginalized. She has had an immeasurable impact on the lives of thousands.”
