Sur La Table Feeds the Homeless

We would like to thank our friends from Sur La Table, who fed the homeless St. Vincent de Paul’s Georgetown Food Bank last week.

Every Friday, the St. Vincent de Paul Georgetown Food Bank opens its doors for our Food, Assistance, Compassion and Emergency Services (FACES) program to serve our homeless neighbors.

1

For our FACES program last week, Sur La Table employees prepared a meal and brought it over to hand out to our homeless neighbors.

2

They prepared pasta with marinara, salad with dressing, cookies, and Rice Krispy treats in their Seattle headquarters.

3

All of the pieces were assembled with care in to-go containers and brought over to the food bank to be given away.

7

To go along with the wonderfully generous meal they prepared, our friends also handed out hot chocolate – complete with whipped cream and marshmallows! – to our guests as they came into the food bank and when they left.

5

Along with handing out the meals and beverages that they prepared and brought, the Sur La Table employees also helped us hand out our regular food and drinks.

8

For our FACES program, we try to hand out food that will help our homeless neighbors make it through the weekend, by providing food that is in individual serving sizes that doesn’t require any preparation or refrigeration.

9

We are so grateful for the help and donation from Sur La Table. Having a delicious, hot meal meant a lot to our homeless friends.

10

We thank you for your hard work and for taking the time to lend a helping hand.
