Early Childhood Resource Referral Line for Latino Families in King County

We are honored to join Best Starts for Kids as part of their Help Me Grow King County network of coordinated access partners. Our Early Childhood Resource and Referral line launches February 1, 2021.

Too often, referral services simply give families some numbers to call, leaving them to connect with these resources on their own. The Help Me Grow system is different. We guide Latino parents and caregivers in navigating the complex web of resources, so they gain access to services during these key development years for their children under five. Our Spanish-speaking Family Connectors contact the referral organization to confirm they are still providing services, and we stay involved to assist with any language barriers or other obstacles as they arise. Whether it’s childhood development screening, help finding a food bank, parenting classes or a low-cost medical clinic, our free resource line helps Latino families easily connect to the community resources that are best for them.

St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle|King County (SVdP) has a mission that aligns with that of the Help Me Grow (HMG) network in King County. Together we are providing concrete help to families who seek our support in navigating the complex social service system. At SVdP we join with the community to listen, engage, and build relationships of trust that support individuals and families to meet basic needs, achieve stability and work towards self-sufficiency.  SVdP has a network of care across King County that is embedded in community; for the past 100 years, we have been responding to the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors in our communities. Now as part of the HMG network, we get to provide further support to families with children ages 0-5.

With our Early Childhood Resource and Referral line, SVdP’s Centro Rendu will continue to support Latino immigrant families with culturally specific services to nurture healthy children, for generations to come.
