Compensation: $22.00 -$25.00 per Hour DOE
Summary:
Eager Teacher Assistant to work 12 to 13 hours per week teaching and interacting with children ages 5 to 13 in age in Spanish.
Must have evening availability from 3:30-8pm from Monday-Thursday as the class schedule is subject to change within that time frame depending on the needs of our families. Currently classes run from 5-7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays in Renton and from 4-6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Kent.
Essential Duties:
- Assist in classroom set-up of desks, chairs and posters half an hour before the start of class.
- Ensure equipment, supplies and materials available for use.
- Assist in managing the classroom with behavior management in a positive manner.
- Provide support in the reading and/or writing center
- Support and help students with social-emotional development
- As assigned assisting lead class team-building activities
- -assisting with classroom clean-up for up to half an hour past the end of class
- -assisting at least one weekly planning meeting (generally takes place virtually)
- Willingness to learn and try new things and apply new strategies
- Contribute ideas to improve Centro Rendu Program.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
- Work with the proper attitude that exemplifies the Society’s Statement of Values.
- Provide feedback on student performance and on academic issues.
- Collaborate with lead teacher on status of student.
- Must have the ability to build relationships with the students and be an active, reflective listener.
- Attend departmental meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
A GED or HS diploma. Background in education a plus.
Language Ability
Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) is required. Must have the ability to communicate with others using both English and Spanish.
Communication Skills
Uses compassionate, reflective listening strategies to engage families of low-income background.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
