Learn More: Poverty Awareness Month
More than 38 million people in the United States live in poverty. January is Poverty Awareness Month. Advocating for the poor is at the heart of St. Vincent de Paul’s mission. Through our Vincentians, volunteers and staff we strive to build relationships that assist and advocate for individuals and families to meet basic needs and achieve stability and self-sufficiency. We encourage you to spend a little time this month learning more about poverty by visiting www.povertyusa.org or watching this short video The Web of Poverty for a better understanding of the significant challenges people face when trying to recover from a financial hardship or setback.
