Job Title: Food Bank Operations Coordinator
Reports To: Food Bank Manager

Salary: $16-$18 (Depending upon Experience)
Summary: Provides operational direction and support for the Georgetown Food Bank, including daily operations, volunteer coordination, public interaction and awareness, communication with community service groups and business donors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the manager to train and organizes Food Bank employees and volunteers.
- Interacts with donors, volunteers, and SVdP employees in a positive, courteous, warm and appropriate manner.
- Loads, unloads, and operates trucks and other equipment in a safe manner and follows all other safety policies and procedures.
- Keeps truck cab clean and organized.
- Manages operations, maintenance, and use of the refrigerated Food Bank truck
- Records required information and maintains a daily vehicle log book and recorded weights. Responsible for receipt and recording of all donations made directly to the Food Bank.
- Understands and can explain donation criteria to donors; determines whether or not a donation is appropriate and provides proper notification to donors.
- Is inclusive of all cultures and welcomes families to participate and ensures the Food Bank is welcoming and easily accessible.
- Promotes the Food Bank to community groups and businesses both for donations and distribution purposes.
- Keeps loading dock and interior and exterior areas clean and safe.
- Participates in all SVdP and Food Bank programs, activities and meetings, i.e. general recycling and food waste recycling, staff meetings and training, and Society events.
- Maintains, cleans, organizes refrigerators and freezers, and notifies Manager when services or repairs are necessary.
- Manages and organizes event set-up and tear-down.
- Completes necessary food and supply purchase/orders as directed by Manager
- Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of food bank activities with activities of other departments.
- Directs salvage of damaged donations.
- Attends and participates in all manager training programs as required.
- Oversees and coordinates Food Bank facility maintenance, including signage.
- Consistent focus on improvement/adding of services offered to the community
- Manages operations of the Clothing Bank
- Ability to multi-task while working in a fast paced environment
- Process and distributes incoming and outgoing mail
- Completes necessary food and supply purchase/orders
- Promotes and establishes appropriate philosophical theories, awareness, and methods of providing services to people in need. Creates the “culture” of the Food Bank Community
- Partners with the manager to maintain the security of the Food Bank building, as well a safe and secure work environment for all guests, visitors, staff, and volunteers.

Associate degree from a two-year college or university degree in a related field. Prefer three years of job-related experience or a combination of the two.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ease in addressing large groups and communicating with diverse workgroups. Ability to read, analyze, and understand Society Guidelines, donor & Health Department food regulations, safety manuals, and food handling regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Excellent communication and organizational/planning skills preferred. Strongly prefer bilingual English/Spanish speaking ability.
Ability to solve practical problems quickly and in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to develop and maintain regular activity reporting via computer database and email. Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software and familiarity with inventory-based software.

Safe Food Handling: Required, SVdP will pay for the permit
