SVdP Food Bank
Our Georgetown Food Bank at 5972 Fourth Avenue South in Seattle is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday every week. Our hours are as follows:
- Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
We are distributing food to neighbors through our choice model system. This procedure allows neighbors to choose the kinds of food they prefer. Each station is filled with a variety of canned good, boxed items, fresh vegetables and fruits, snacks, and more.
Thousands of neighbors visit our Georgetown Food Bank & Community Service Center and we strive to serve everyone without regard to faith, religion, age, sex, national origin, creed, or color.
We always accept your donations of non-perishable foods and personal hygiene items.
SVdP Foodbank needs the following for donation:
FOOD:
- Granola Bars
- Crackers
- Canned soup and stews
- Canned meat (Spam or Ham)
- 8 oz. shelf-stable juice
- Shelf stable milk
- Snack size fruit cups
- Cereal boxes
- Cooking oil
HYGIENE ITEMS:
- Travel size toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Soap or body wash
- Lotion/shampoos
- Razors
- Deodorant
Health Assessments Starting First Week in February 2023
Basic health care is a major concern for thousands of people in our King County communities. St. Vincent de Paul offers a basic health assessment program at our Georgetown Food Bank. We periodically offering free flu vaccinations, blood pressure checks and other health assessments during Food Bank Hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays (11am-2pm).
Community Connectors
We will have a team of staff and service providers specifically charged with engaging neighbors at the SVdP Georgetown Food Bank as they come to get food on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Our team is trained to enable our neighbors to secure information about other food bank locations, housing assistance, help with utilities, health care, job readiness, education and other benefit areas that they may not know about. We will also refer our neighbors to other beneficial services that are available and with completing applications for enrollment in programs to receive services.
Outreach Programs:
Mobile Medical Van provides free or low-cost medical assistance to neighbors.
- Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month
Community Health Plan of Washington will have a representative at the food bank helping neighbors sign up and give advice on the best health plan for them!
- Speaks Chinese, Japanese and English
- Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month
REACH – an organization that builds relationships with people experiencing homelessness and connects them to the help that they need (everything from food and clothing to medical care, shelter, and mental health and/or substance use treatment), is in Foodbank every First and Third Thursday, 11am to 1pm.
