A Call for Artists
A visual arts contest and opportunity for High School students in King County presented by St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle|King County’s Centro Rendu in collaboration with Highline Community College.
We invite high school students to submit art expressing and showcasing The Resilient Latino Spirit.
Art Competition:
Theme: “The Resilient Latino Spirit”
Winners: We will have three top winners. Additionally, up to 12 extra students will be selected to participate in working with Blanca Santander (to learn more about Blanca go to www.BlancaSantander.com) on the mural. Selected pieces will be displayed around the City of Kent and St. Vincent de Paul.
Who Can Participate: Students in King County in grades 9-12
Acceptable Media for Art Project: Illustration, Watercolor, Acrylic or Oil painting on paper or canvas. Maximum size 2 x 3 feet
How to Apply: Please fill out and submit the application form, along with your art piece to Centro Rendu at 310 Central Ave. North in Kent, WA 98032. If attending a Kent School District High School, you can submit to the designated contact person for your school. Entries can be submitted directly to Centro Rendu. Kent School District students can submit applications through their school contact person.
Deadline: All entries must be submitted or post marked NO LATER than April 30, 2014.

About this Project:
This project is funded in part by a grant from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development for a project that involves creating a mural to support community engagement through the arts and in collaboration with Highline Community College.
By entering the Centro Rendu First Annual Art Competition and Exhibit, the applicant affirms that they have submitted their own original artwork. If the applicant is accepted, the applicant understands that they are expected to participate in a final piece that will be part of a mural under the direction of local Peruvian artist Blanca Santander. The applicant also agree that images of work that they submit for jury and/or enter into the competition may be used by St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle|King County for publicity purposes.
